March President's Message

Warm Greetings to All!

While we have all learned new terms in the past few weeks like “social distancing” and “flattening the curve,” I hope that many of you are like me and utilizing the technology we have to continue to maintain those important relationships and stay connected! As the economy has changed and people’s concerns about the future have grown, many of us are experiencing uneven times professionally and personally. Please do not be alone with uncertainty—just like those we coach, sometimes we need coaching or reinforcement. One of the benefits of being part of this community is the community—we are here for each other.

Building Coaching Practices
We had a great turnout on 3.27.20 for our conversation on Resiliency with Daniel Montgomery and Dr. Eboni Web. Being able to gather together so many of our members for an outstanding and interactive session was amazing. I’m planning an online happy hour in the next couple of weeks (attendees don’t have to leave their homes and can have their drink of choice at hand) and would encourage any of you wanting to host ad hoc sessions to let us know. We’re happy to lend the use of Zoom and put out a chapter-wide invitation for other members to join you.

We continue to hold our monthly webinars and, as always, the programs are without charge to members and you will receive CCE’s for attendance. New for 2020 for our members, we are able to offer on-demand learning for webinars held in 2020. Missed the January or February webinar and still want to earn CCEs? Send an email to

Advancing ICF OV

The Chapter Board recently approved a pro bono coaching initiative to work with the Metropolitan United Way in Louisville. For any Louisville area coaches who focus on executive leadership and would like to participate in this gift of coaching, please send a message to The anticipated time commitment would be 6-8 hours total over a couple of months.

One of our members, Gwen Fells registered for the ICF Midwest Conference that is being held in Milwaukee, WI, from September 30-October 2 and has found that she is unable to attend. She would like to sell her $529 registration. If you would be willing to purchase the registration, please contact
ICF Membership Renewal

The end of March typically means the end of ICF yearly memberships and the need to renew in order to continue to be part of the organization that is recognized worldwide for putting standards and ethics to the coaching profession. Given the exceptional circumstances in which we find ourselves globally, ICF has extended memberships through the end of June and is putting in place the option of paying by installment in early April. Click here for more information. As you’ve seen over the past several months, the ICF is embracing its role as the International Coaching Federation and if ever there was a time for coaching to be in the spotlight as a way forward, it is now.
